On 14 April 2017 UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office, Center “Cooperation for Sustainable Development” (Almaty, Kazakhstan) and Central Asian Regional Water Network CAR@WAN jointly organized a launch event of the United Nations World Water Development Report 2017 “Wastewater: The Untapped Resource” in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by 56 representatives of all interested parties, including governmental and international organizations, educational and research institutions, as well as NGOs and independent experts.
During the event the main conclusions and recommendations of the UN World Water Development Report 2017 “Wastewater: The Untapped Resource” were presented
to the participants. In addition, the following issues were discussed:
Wastewater management in Tajikistan;
Wastewater and public health of the Republic of Tajikistan;
Water conservation in Central Asia;
Tajikistan Water Supply and Sanitation Project – TajWSS;
Capacity building of specialists in the field of water supply and wastewater management.
The results of the event were summarized during an interactive discussion.
